IDENTITY A poem inspired by Glenn Colquhoun’s method of generating poetic images.

I book ends slice the tall subject from society
d against a straight, compulsory line, queerness draws itself
e unspoken lives persevere in the perpetual gap, fastened to history
n becoming lost as we etch repetitive stories up, and then over, the hill
t media’s mainstream tales loom large, overpowering alternate tracks
i hack off its head, they say, imagining technology to be in charge
t but our tools surprise, creating more sculptors who carve more variety
y finally, branching out in multiple trajectories, our book ends fall
