Please introduce yourself by telling us where you live (country, city/state/region) and what kind of writing you do.
Stephanie: I'm on unceded Gadigal country (Sydney Australia), I'm finishing (!) my art history PhD on the Grim Reaper in 14thc Italy
Angelica: I'm Angelica from Houston, TX. My academic writing is on second language acquisition and I also like to write on happiness.
Gokul: I am Gokul from India. I have done legal writing. I want to do more academic and blog writing.
Creative warm up: Writing prompt: If your writing project were an animal, what kind of animal would it be, and why?
Angelica: If my book on happiness were an animal, it would be a puppy because puppies bring happiness into people's lives.
Gokul: Octopus. Chat GPT told me that the octopus represents intelligence, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Stephanie: My animal is an octopus as well! I initially thought of trying to convince an octopus to fit into a little box, but as I wrote I realised I should be working with my octopus to coordinate the limbs so it could swim powerfully and freely. I had two close encounters with octopi over the summer, it was magical
Helen: Freddie! Because he puts a smile on the face of everyone who sees him.
My Octopus Teacher -- documentary
Angelica: Stephanie, I love the idea of the octopus!
Pre-pomodoro: What do you plan to work on?
Stephanie: I'm working on the first part of the next section of this chapter
Angelica: I will add some information to the chapter 8 of the manuscript on happiness.
Gokul: I am going to write a short piece on something related to Indian competition law.
Post-pomodoro: Please tell us one thing that you accomplished
Stephanie: I found my way into the paragraph, and I also discovered the dearth of synonyms for "wings" and "winged" in English!
Helen: Julia Cameron, The Artist's Way at Work
Angelica: I added one new idea to chapter 8. It was great seeing all of you! I will be back in 2 weeks. Thank you for the book recommendation.
WINDOW session: Please tell us one thing that you discussed, noticed, or learned.
What's so (the facts) vs so what? (the argument; why we should care)
