[Writing experiment]

This week I worked on movement in my writing by trying to weave in the first four exercises into a paragraph description of a short film - one teeming with movement itself. I'm trying to capture the sense of rapid pace and frenzy of the scene while also remaining succinct:

The film starts with a semblance of order as the dance begins as a paired dance with two lines approaching one another, parting, and returning. Partner moves lead to some ersatz solo buck and wing turns, then the group circles hand-in-hand. Suddenly, one of the men pulls out a comically large razor. To break up the fight, a newcomer smoking a cigarette and brandishing a gun bursts upon the scene through the rear door. After fumbling with the gun, he chases everyone out—they leap through the window and scramble through the door—then he rips down the sign admonishing “No Rasers Aloud,” and the scene ends with the armed assailant standing center frame, cigarette still dangling from his mouth.
